"Mehfil" means a gathering, a place where stories unfold over food.
At Mehfil Indian Bistro, we bring the cooking of North India to the heart of Truckee. Our recipes stay true to their origins: fresh ingredients, whole spices, and the slow techniques that make home cooking in India taste the way it does.
The tandoor turns out our naan and kebabs. The curries simmer the traditional way, from our Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken to dal makhani cooked overnight.
The paintings on our walls show village kitchens and the fields of North India, next to photographs of the Sierra. That mix is Mehfil: rooted in India, at home in the mountains.
We serve Truckee and the mountain communities around it, from Kings Beach to Northstar. Join our mehfil.
Why the tabla
The tabla is the heartbeat of an Indian musical mehfil, the drum that keeps everyone together. It felt like the right emblem for a place built around gathering.
